Ben Franklin Half Dollars

For a long time, the mint director Nellie Tayloe Ross wanted Ben Franklin on a US Coin. This was finally realized in 1948 with the minting of the silver Ben Franklin Half Dollar. This ran until 1963 when the JFK Half took over.
