Trade Dollars

A relatively short lived minting (1873 though 1885). Trade dollars were issued for circulation in Asia in order to compete with other larger sized silver coins from other countries. Pieces that circulated in Asia often were counter-stamped with Chinese characters which are called "Chop Marks".
